Role Overview

The VP of Group Accounting will be an active member of the senior finance leadership team within the group, reporting directly to the Group Controller. You will manage multiple finance teams throughout the group and ensure timely, reliable reporting of financial information from each subsidiary. You will lead the preparation of the Group’s consolidated financial statements & local company statutory accounts process, ensuring compliance of financial information (for tax and statutory purposes) with local GAAPs and IFRS. Working closely with the Revenue & Cost control teams, you will also lead the delivery of the Group’s centralised financial accounting and control function as well as managing the Group’s intercompany and Transfer Pricing processes.

What You Will Do

 

  • To develop, implement, and manage the central financial accounting, reporting and control environment to allow timely and effective delivery of consolidated management accounting and annual audited financial statements in line with IFRS.
  • Coordinate monthly closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts along with the Revenue & Costs control teams.
  • Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
  • Develop and implement various internal group accounting procedures.
  • Coordinates information on all changes in local regulation principles regarding accounting and taxes & monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures. Assures compliance with corporate policies, regulations and laws.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement, along with the Central Cash & Liquidity team.
  • Assist in the preparation of Budgeted Group Cashflows as well as monthly variance analysis.
  • Assist the GFC in the management of the Group Management Incentive Program along with internal & external legal teams
  • To lead, motivate and develop staff and continually demonstrate leadership behaviours, skills and capabilities.
  • To provide coaching and mentoring support to direct reports and the wider team where required.
  • To be an active and fully engaged member of the Senior Finance Leadership Team.
  • Assist FP&A team with monthly reporting & annual budgeting process.
  • Responsible for Transfer Pricing process and tax compliance around the Group.

Who You Are

 

  • Proven leadership of large teams of professional/specialist staff.
  • Proven experience of being part of a senior leadership team.
  • Good analytical skills and close attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with business users of all levels both written and verbal.
  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a variety of senior finance roles in large finance functions in industry.
  • Exposure to IFRS reporting, tax compliance and planning, and strong technical accounting skills. The ambition and potential to take on increasingly senior roles within the business.
  • High energy and drive, and flexible enough to work in a dynamic and changing environment and the resilience to challenge/be challenged.
