Role:
Excellent opportunity for an individual with IT/data engineering skills and interest in accountancy to join the Finance Function of a leading Multi-national company based in Galway. This is a permanent role which will allow the successful candidate to develop, learn new skills and take on responsibility in a high-performance finance team.
The ideal candidate will possess the right balance of technical knowhow along with influencing and relationship building skills necessary to drive projects to a successful conclusion.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Finance Team and Process leads on creating efficiencies in current processes using suitable tools
- Evaluate business needs and build data systems to help analyse and organise raw data.
- Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
- Develop analytical tools and programs
- Drive deliverables to completion within challenging timelines ensuring collaboration and effective communication with all stakeholders
- Work effectively with stakeholders located both locally and remotely
- Manage risks and flag issues to the relevant Stakeholders as they arise
- Provide project support to assist with finance and accounting improvement initiatives and to drive their implementation
- Produce detailed, high quality and clear documentation as required
- Work closely with technical team during the implementation phases to ensure common understanding, agreement and effective implementation of projects
Essential Skills
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field essential
- Knowledge or certification of data engineering tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI, Visio, Winshuttle or similar tools an advantage
- Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Database structures and experienced excel user
- Experience in process analysis, design & documentation
- Track record of knowledge application & results delivery
- Curiosity for emerging technology & Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
- Knowledge of SQL an advantage
- Ideal candidate would be interested in training in accountancy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers and subject matter experts)
- Positive attitude and flexibility
- Ability to work on own initiative, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and consistency
- Highly organised, self-motivated, team player with excellent analytical skills and an ability to handle large volumes of data
- Fluency in a second European Language is beneficial
